Guy Family



The earliest known person is Anthony GUY of Chippenham, Wiltshire, circa 1640 to November 1719.

His grandson, also Anthony, was Sherriff of Wiltshire in 1741. The last of the family in Chippenham was Henry (born 1773).

Henry's brother John GUY became a lawyer in London. Among his descendants are Midshipman Basil John Douglas Guy who was awarded the Victoria Cross in 1900 at the age of eighteen.
