The earliest known person is Thomas MILLER born circa 1620 in Fife, Scotland. For a time the family was farming, together with the SWANSTON family, at Cockburnspath and Oldhamstocks in East Lothian. Later, Thomas Miller (born 1805), shown left emigrated to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands to join the Swanstons in business there. Joseph Miller, his second son is also shown below left. The book "Scottish Saga" by William Miller, published by Haggerston Press, [ISBN 1 869812 04 2] describes the lives of these families in Scotland from 1600 to 1999.
